Support for Your Journey through Life Transitions
Greetings! My name is Angela Williams and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My Master’s degree in Social Work is from California State University, Long Beach. I have been working in the field of social work since 2002.
I have experience working with a diversity of clients who have had a variety of treatment issues. I utilize a strengths-based perspective where counseling is directed at supporting coping behavior, change and growth, and emphasizes new possibilities and options. You are the expert on your own experiences and I believe therapy is one tool that can be used to heal from past experiences and grow in new directions. We will focus on your strengths and facilitate a safe space to work on mutually agreed upon goals based on the issues that led you to seek assistance. My approach to therapy draws on several theoretical orientations, and the techniques I utilize are determined by your needs.
While I maintain a general practice, my treatment specialization includes:
Supportive therapy for individuals with memory and cognitive impairment
Caregiving issues
Personal growth and development
Relationship issues
Depression and anxiety
Stage of life transitions
Older adult issues
Medical and health concerns including chronic health issues and disability
Spiritual concerns
Grief and loss due to death, divorce, break up, pet death, job or other life transitions
Work and career issues
Whatever concerns or issues you bring to therapy, I will provide a non-judgmental, compassionate environment as I partner with you to help you build on your strengths to identify and achieve your goals.
If you are considering beginning therapy, please contact me at (562) 439-5117 to schedule a complimentary telephone or in-person consultation as an opportunity to ask about my training, experience, and style of therapy.
